Olivia Rodrigo, 19, a rising star diva and actress who won three Grammy Awards at the 64th Grammy Awards ceremony, expressed her true feelings about the U.S. Supreme Court’s recent decision banning abortion during a concert.
She expressed her anger at the Supreme Court justices
On Saturday afternoon, June 25, Olivia performed at the Glastonbury Festival 2022 in England. During her appearance, Olivia expressed her anger at the Supreme Court justices who overturned the Roe v. Wade decision.
Roe v. Wade” is a historic case in which the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in 1973 that abortion was illegal in the United States. Since then, the right to abortion has been guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution, but on June 24, the U.S. Supreme Court overturned this decision and ruled that abortion is prohibited.
Before singing “Fuck You” with special guest Lily Allen, Olivia told the audience, “I am mentally devastated.
I am mentally devastated and terrified. So many women and girls are dying because of this. I would like to dedicate this next song to the five members of the Supreme Court who have shown me that at the end of the day, freedom doesn’t matter. I sing this song to the justices. Samuel Alito, Clarence Thomas, Neil Gorsuch, Amy Coney Barrett, and Brett Kavanaugh. We hate you guys!”
