HYBE, the agency of the popular South Korean boy group BTS, has issued an unusual call to their fans.

In June, BTS announced that they would “focus on solo activities as well as group activities” in June. Around this time, the number of malicious posts against BTS began to increase online, with some of them using more than 10 different IP addresses to make anti-comments.

HYBE said, “We are monitoring these kinds of malicious posts and have filed criminal charges against the posters for all posts containing malicious comments,” and “We regularly file legal proceedings against those who engage in malicious acts such as defamation, personal attacks, sexual harassment, spreading unfounded information, and malicious criticism regarding BTS. We regularly file legal proceedings against those who engage in malicious acts such as defamation, personal attacks, sexual harassment, dissemination of baseless information, and malicious criticism of BTS.

He also asked fans to “help us remove malicious postings. It also urges fans to report any harassment they find against BTS to the hotline e-mail address “protect@bighitmusic.co.kr”.
