At the recent Star Wars Celebration event in London, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy announced that three new films will be produced.

Each is set in the past, present and future of the Skywalker saga, and it has also been announced that Dave Filoni will direct the film, which will focus on the period between the New Trilogy and the Old Trilogy, the same period as The Mandalorian, and the escalating conflict between the Empire and the New Republic.

In an interview with Yahoo! Entertainment, Jon Favreau, executive producer of The Mandalorian, and the film’s director, Dave Filoni, mentioned the possibility of Grogu appearing in a new upcoming Star Wars film.

‘There’s nothing I can talk about at the moment,’ Favreau said, stressing that there is no possibility, ‘but still, every possibility is being considered.’

Favreau also brushed off the possibility of Grogu’s past being revealed in the future, saying, “Actually, we don’t know much”, and added, “George Lucas didn’t want to reveal a lot. That’s what made the character of Yoda unique and special. We want to respect that.”
