Amanda Bynes, 37, will remain hospitalized at a psychiatric hospital in California for the “foreseeable future”.
Amanda herself has been admitted to a clinic in Orange County.
Amanda Bynes, known for her work on “Hairspray,” was discharged from another facility where she was admitted for the second time this year under the “5150” measure (which protects mentally disturbed persons who may harm themselves or others) and moved to outpatient treatment.
A source told TMZ that Amanda, who is in a minimally supervised group that allows her to go outside the facility for shopping and walks during certain hours, is happy with her treatment at the facility and “intends to remain there for the time being while she works on herself and her mental health. She said she “intends to remain in the hospital for the time being while she works on herself and her mental health.
Amanda, who was admitted to the hospital after seeking help from the police in June, said she decided to stay because she prefers being surrounded by staff and patients at the facility rather than living alone in her Los Angeles home and felt that outpatient treatment was inadequate.
In March, she was also placed on “5150” measures after she was found walking alone and naked on the streets of Los Angeles.
Amanda, who has had mental health issues for some time, was under the care of her mother Lynn for nine years from 2013 to last year under adult guardianship due to problematic behavior in public and a series of legal issues.
