Florence received a variety of opinions and criticism for wearing this outfit. Some criticized her body shape and breast size, saying that “Florence’s breasts are too small” and “too flat.

In response, Florence posted a lengthy statement on Instagram. There she wrote, “Listen. I knew that when I wore that amazing Valentino dress, I was going to get a lot of attention. Whether it be negative comments or positive ones. We knew exactly what we were doing,” Florence wrote.

She had no hesitation or nervousness about wearing the dress. ‘What was interesting to watch was how easily, publicly, and proudly men could completely destroy a woman’s body. It’s not the first time a woman has had strangers gossiping about what’s wrong with her body, and it surely won’t be the last. What worries me is how vile some of you men can be,” she said in response to men making mindless comments.

‘Many have wanted to let me know how small and flat my breasts are, how shameful they are. But I have lived in this body for a long time and I am fully aware of my breasts and I am not afraid of them,” Florence continued.

She added, “I was taught growing up to find power in the wrinkles on my body. I was taught to speak up about my comfort. My mission in this industry is to say ‘shut the fuck up,’ when asked to be sexually attractive,” she said, expressing her resistance.

Florence concluded by saying to her critics, “Grow up. Respect people. Respect your body. Respect all women. Respect people. I promise you that your life will be better.
