The Russo brothers of “Endgame” were asked by “Iron Man” director Jon Favreau not to kill Tony Stark

Anthony Russo and Joe Russo, a.k.a. the Russo brothers, who directed “Avengers/Endgame,” revealed that Jon Favreau objected to the idea of “Iron Man’s death” and had to be persuaded.

Released in theaters on April 26, 2019, “Avengers: Endgame” is set in a world where half of humanity has been wiped out by Thanos, the deadliest of enemies. The film was a worldwide hit and became the number one box office hit of all time in the history of cinema.

 

The death of Tony Stark (Iron Man), played by Robert Downey Jr. However, it was not only a shock to fans, but also to some of the creators associated with the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

 

Jon Favreau, the director of “Iron Man” and also known as Stark’s driver Happy Hogan, called the Russo brothers.

 

In a recent Vanity Fair video, the Russo brothers said that Jon Favreau was opposed to Tony Stark’s death. ‘Part of the pressure was from Jon Favreau. He called us after reading the script and said, ‘Are you guys really going to kill Iron Man?’ He said, ‘Are you really going to kill Iron Man?'” he recalled. To this Joe added, “I remember talking to Favreau on the phone in the corner of the stage and trying to talk him down.

Maybe there was a future where Tony Stark didn’t die…?
