Actor Alec Baldwin is under investigation after an accidental shooting during the filming of “Rust” last October. Recently, the FBI released a forensic report on the incident.

On October 21, 2021 local time, Alec was handling a prop revolver on the set of Bonanza Creek Ranch in Bonanza City, New Mexico. He was practicing handling the revolver when a single shot was fired, wounding Souza and killing cinematographer Halina Hutchins. Alec said that the firing was completely accidental and that he did not know that the revolver contained live ammunition. As a result of this incident, production on the film was suspended indefinitely. An investigation by the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Department began on the day of the incident and is still ongoing.
In the meantime, an FBI forensic report obtained by ABC News has revealed new details about the shooting. Alec claimed that he did not pull the trigger on the revolver and that it fired accidentally, but an FBI misfire examination revealed that the revolver could not have been fired without pulling the trigger; the FBI report stated that the gun “could not have been made to fire without pulling the trigger while its working internal components were intact and functioning.
