Prince Harry’s memoir “Spare” was finally released on Tuesday, January 10. In it, he also reflects on his former girlfriend, Chelsy Davy.

Prince Harry also seems to mention his ex-girlfriend in his memoir.

It is said that Prince Harry and Chelsy Davy met in 2004. Since then, they have been in a relationship that went through a series of breakups and reconciliation until 2010. Even after their complete breakup, they remained friends, and Chelsy attended Prince Harry and Meghan’s wedding in May 2018.

In the book, the two candidly describe their relationship and explain why Prince Harry was attracted to Chelsy.

It is said that they met in March 2004 in Cape Town, South Africa, where Prince Harry was visiting, but according to Prince Harry’s memoir, they actually met much earlier.

Of the night of their visit to Cape Town, he wrote, “One night we decided to invite someone over for dinner, but there was one problem. But there was one problem. But that’s not entirely true. I met a girl from South Africa a few years ago. It was at the Berkshire Polo Club. That was Chelsy. She was different from the others, so I remembered her,” he recalled.

Thus, the two met again. Prince Harry said, “Unlike many other people, she seemed indifferent to decorum and royalty. Unlike many of the women I have met, she was not the kind of girl who would be royal the moment she shook my hand. She wasn’t the type to be concerned with royalty,” he continued, “I always wanted to know at the time. I always wanted to know what kind of woman I could open my eyes to, what kind of woman I could open my heart to and be in touch with, not the kind of woman who would open her eyes and be attracted to me the moment she heard my title. And Chelsy seemed to have that potential. She was not only uninterested in my title, she seemed bored. She was not only uninterested in my title, she was even bored. So? ‘” he adds.

Chelsy’s “normalness” attracted the couple to each other, but their relationship ended in 2010.

In the book, it is revealed that the reason for the breakup was because of paparazzi. When Chelsy asked Prince Harry to do something about the paparazzi following them around, he said, “I said I would try. I told her how sorry I was. When we got back to Cape Town, she called me and said she was going crazy with the paparazzi following her everywhere she went. She couldn’t understand that the paparazzi always knew where she was. She was panicking.

Chelsy asked me if I couldn’t stand this, if she was going to be stalked for the rest of her life. What can I say? I miss her so much. But I completely understand her desire for freedom. If I had a choice, I wouldn’t want this kind of life,” she said, revealing the pain of the paparazzi following her around, and they ultimately went their separate ways.

Chelsy has since gone on to become an entrepreneur, starting a jewelry brand and a travel company.
