Popular actress Margot Robbie recounts her first reaction when she read the script for her new film Barbie, and says she never thought it would actually get made.
The Barbie doll is being made into a live-action film for the first time by Greta Gerwig, who was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Director and Best Screenplay for Lady Bird.
The film features a stellar cast, including Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling.
As the US release date for Barbie approaches, Margot shared her initial reaction to reading the script in a recent interview with BAFTA. She revealed that she thought the script was ‘very good’, although she did not think the studio would actually allow her to make the film. ‘When I first read Barbie’s script, my reaction was, “Oh! This is good!’ I was like. I also thought it was a shame it would never see the light of day, because they would never let me make this film.
