At the end of last December, “Live to Lead,” a documentary about Prince Harry and Princess Meghan, was released on Netflix.

Nicola Mandela, granddaughter of the late Nelson Mandela, South Africa’s first black president and best known for abolishing apartheid, complained about the content.

In a recent interview with The Australian, Nicola Mandela, whose husband and wife were the executive producers of “Leaders of the World: Faith Changed Society! which he and his wife executive produced, claims that he is “using” his grandfather’s legacy.

In addition, the couple revealed that they were inspired by Nelson Mandela’s achievements in making this film, and the Nelson Mandela Foundation is actually co-producing the film.

In an interview, Nicolas noted that the film seems to compare the couple’s struggles in the royal family with the life of a former South African. She stated, “It’s infuriating and disgusting.”

The two are chalk and cheese. They are not comparable to begin with,” Nicolas said. “I know that the Nelson Mandela Foundation supports this work. But there have been many people over the years who have stolen his words of wisdom and exploited his legacy, knowing that they could sell it if they put his name on it. What Harry and Meghan are doing is no different,” he said angrily.

On the other hand, Nicola, who expressed respect for Prince Harry’s confident departure from the royal family, said that this action “coincides with the episode of my grandfather who rebelled against an arranged marriage and found his own way of life,” adding, “But in return, they had to earn their own living? I have been able to talk peacefully with people who use my grandfather’s name, but I still feel deeply upset and tired every time,” she added.

Nicola then added, “I don’t think Harry or Meghan ever had a proper visitation with their grandfather. Harry may have a little bit when he was younger, though. Nevertheless, they have made millions of dollars from a documentary that quotes their grandfather, and they refuse to give any of their profits to the Mandela family.
