Pete was spotted sitting courtside at Madison Square Garden on Sunday afternoon (23 April local time) with fellow comedian Jon Stewart.
After the game, many fans ran up to Pete and asked for selfies. Pete responded to them. Then, as one fan was taking a selfie with his mobile phone, another man approached and suddenly put his arm around Pete.
At first Pete did not say anything, but when the man got too close and did not respect his personal space, he pushed him away. The man backed away when Pete pushed him away, but Pete was clearly angry with the man and shook his head after taking a selfie with another fan.
Pete is known for being friendly and mild-mannered with his fans, so it was rare for him to be angry, or so the video quickly went viral on the internet, with people writing: ‘Here’s an angry Pete’.
The video quickly went viral on the internet, with people asking: ‘Is he trying to kiss Pete?’ Comments included, “Think about your personal space” and “In the long version of this video, this guy was persistently touching Pete before this.”
Just a week or so ago, it was revealed that Pete would be returning to Saturday Night Live next month, which was a hot topic of discussion.
Pete joined the cast in 2014 when he was 20 years old and graduated in season 47 in 2022. He was on the show for a total of eight seasons and will be promoting Peacock’s new series Bupkis, which debuts on the streaming service on 4 May.
