Samantha’s death was announced within her Instagram, “Samantha passed away at 11:25am on 14 May at Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto, surrounded by her loved ones”. The post was accompanied by a smiling photo edited to look like she was floating in a galaxy. The caption reads, ‘After two and a half years of cancer treatment, travelling the world, voicing numerous animated characters, making music and knowing more about life than most, she is off on her next adventure’.

Samantha married Michael Knutson in October 2022 during her cancer battle.

Recently, Samantha and Michael had visited Japan on a slightly delayed honeymoon trip. Samantha had shared her visit to Japan on Instagram earlier this month.

Samantha wrote: “Hey guys, it’s Japan time! This is my first post from our honeymoon in Japan!” and revealed how much fun they were having.

‘We flew first class! Champagne was flying around and they served us soup made from the tears of our children. We actually slept on the plane. It was like car seats, you can’t sleep at all, but when I woke up we had less than two hours to go before we landed and it felt great, the 13-hour time difference was worth it.”

Samantha previously revealed in her essay that she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer at the age of 25. She also stated that she met her husband in the following weeks.

‘Having cancer was the worst thing that could have happened to me, but oddly enough it was also the best. I have more love in my life than I could ever imagine, I have more love for myself and I feel like every day is a gift’, she wrote.
