Locals, happy to have one big celebrity join their ranks

Brad has reportedly purchased the 1918 mansion in celebrity-favorite Carmel, the highest purchase price ever in the area, according to the report.

The Daily Mail reported on July 27 that locals are “delighted to have another big-name celebrity on board,” as the mansion has been vacant for years.

The mansion was designed by 20th century architect Charles Sumner Greene for Kansas City businessman Daniel James Jr. Brad, who loves architecture, is said to be very fond of the Craftsman-style house.

Built of locally mined sandstone and quayside granite in a subdued terra cotta color, the house features arched windows and a Mediterranean-style tile roof, designed to look as if it has emerged from the quayside.

Brad also owns a $5 million coastal home in Goleta, California, that he purchased when he married Jennifer Aniston in 2000.
