The possibility of Johnny Depp’s return…?
An interesting update was shared about the future of Disney’s popular “Pirates of the Caribbean” series, mentioning the possible return of Johnny Depp.
The “Pirates of the Caribbean” film series ran from 2003 to 2017 and consisted of five films. While each film in the series has been a box office hit, a sixth film has yet to become a reality, leaving fans anxious about the future of the franchise.

In an interview with The New York Times, Walt Disney executive Sean Bailey spoke about the future of the “Pirates of the Caribbean” series. Bailey said, “We think we have a really good, exciting story that can tell something new, while still paying tribute to the previous films. (Depp’s return) is non-stated at this point.” While Johnny is not officially making a comeback, the comments drew attention, as Disney’s side is seen as not closing the door on that as well.
Speaking of Johnny, he was involved in a defamation trial following allegations of domestic violence by his ex-wife Amber Heard. Johnny later won a defamation suit against Amber in the U.S., but announced his retirement from the role of Jack Sparrow. Keira Knightley has also expressed no interest in returning, meaning that the franchise has lost two major stars. As a result, the future of the series is attracting a lot of attention.
