Lewis Capaldi, 26, a singer-songwriter from Scotland, lost his voice during a live performance.

Lewis performed at the Glastonbury Festival, a large outdoor festival held in Pilton, England, on June 24. The performance was said to have lasted for an hour, but towards the end of the performance, he reportedly complained of a voice malfunction.

According to The Mirror, Lewis said of his condition, “To be honest, my voice is getting worse. But we’re going to keep going and we’re going to finish the show,” he told the audience. If you don’t mind if I can’t sing properly, I’ll play two more songs,” he told the audience.

Later, when the audience sang his hit song “Someone You Loved” on Lewis’ behalf, Lewis burst into tears.

Lewis has mental health issues such as Tourette’s syndrome* and anxiety disorder, and earlier this month, while promoting his second album “Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent,” he announced that he would be taking time off to recover. He cancelled all tour dates leading up to the “Glastonbury Festival.

After the festival, Lewis announced that he would be taking more time off for his own mental health.

He said, “I’m going to take some more time off in the next couple of weeks, so I’ll probably see the rest of the year. So you probably won’t see much of me for the rest of the year. But I hope that when I come back, when I see you guys, you’ll still want to see us.”
