Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny,” the latest film in the “Indiana Jones” series, which became a worldwide blockbuster hit, will be released simultaneously in Japan and the United States on Friday, June 30.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny” will be released simultaneously in Japan and the U.S. on Friday, June 30, 2023.

Actor Harrison Ford (80), who stars in the film, revealed in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that he is not making any “old jokes” in his latest film.

The first “Indiana Jones” film, “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” was released in 1981 and became a worldwide hit and one of the greatest films in cinema history. Four films in the series, “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom,” “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade,” and “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull,” were released this year. Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny,” which will be released this year, is the first new film in 15 years.

The “Indiana Jones” series has a very long history, but in an interview with THR, Harrison said, “There were a lot of old jokes in the script. We took them all out,” he confessed.

Harrison said that instead of talking about his own aging, he wants the audience to actually see it. There’s a moment in one situation where the protagonist observes himself and says, ‘What the f- am I doing in here?'” he said, revealing that he has a line that uses the F-word.

But I don’t like what we call ‘storytelling. I want to see a situation where the audience can experience the story, not one where the highlights are pointed out and told. I want to create an action that is more of a joke of its time than a telling of the story,” he said, revealing the reason for cutting the old jokes.

As for the use of “rejuvenation technology” in the film, Harrison added, “I didn’t like the idea until I saw how it was done this time around. In my 40 years of working with Lucasfilm, I have frames of all my films, printed and unprinted. When I play a scene, they go through every inch of the film with AI and find me at the same angle and in the same light. It’s weird, but it works, and it’s my face,” he said, showing his acceptance of the rejuvenating technology.
