A video of the cast auditions for Netflix’s popular science fiction drama “Stranger Things” has been released.
Carmen Cuba, casting director for the drama, discussed the casting process and each character’s future in the drama in a YouTube feature for Vanity Fair magazine.

As audition footage of the still-new cast members plays, casting director Carmen Cuba says, “To be honest, when we cast ‘Stranger Things,’ we didn’t think it would work, and we didn’t think it would be a big hit! . I had no idea how long it was going to last,” she said, revealing that during the casting phase she had no idea it would be a record-breaking Netflix production.
“These roles would not have been possible for a kid with no acting experience, so I had to go out into the world and my process included seeing kids with a certain look and talking to their parents… Anyway, it was really hard to come up with very specific dialogue every day and over the course of months.
