Every year Apple holds a special event in the fall to announce new iPhones and other new products. Various rumors are already circulating on the Internet about the “iPhone 14 (tentative),” which is expected to be announced in 2022. Therefore, if the timing is as usual, 2022 would be Tuesday, September 13, and Wednesday, September 14 at 2:00 – Japan Standard Time. As for the release date, since the pattern of starting pre-orders on the Friday of the week of the announcement and releasing the following Friday has continued, it seems highly likely that pre-orders will start on September 16 (Fri.) and the product will be released on September 23 (Fri.) in 2022.

Four types of lineups, but only Pro equipped with the latest chip?
There are many rumors that the iPhone 14 (tentative) lineup will be four types, similar to the iPhone 12 and 13 series. DuanRui, who collects information from Chinese social networking sites, posted images of iPhone 14 series cases. Since the mini was not included there, nor was the mini included in the earlier leaked image of the metal mockup, the theory that there will be no mini this time is gaining traction.
However, the breakdown is different, and the most likely expectation is that the mini will be eliminated in the iPhone 14 (tentative), and that there will be four types: unbranded / Pro / Max / Pro Max. In terms of size, the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro are 6.1-inch models, while the iPhone 14 Max and iPhone 14 Pro Max are 6.7-inch models. iPhone 12 and 13 minis are no longer in the lineup, and the iPhone 14 Max will make its first appearance. In essence, it is a larger version of the iPhone 14, positioned as the Pro Max to the Pro.
While there is no definitive information on the specs, Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst and expert on Apple products, expects that only the iPhone 14 Pro/Pro Max will have the new A16 chip, while the iPhone 14/14 Max will remain with the A15 chip. iPhone 14 Pro/Pro Max will be equipped with the new A16 chip. He also said that the memory will be 6GB for all four models.
Ming-Chi Kuo also said on his blog that the newest processors will only be used in the high-end models, and that the iPhone 14 and 14 Max will have the new A16 chip. This is not limited to the iPhone 14 series.
Until now, the new iPhones have shared the same basic features, although there have been differences in camera performance. However, from now on, there may be features that are only available on the Pro model with the latest chip.
