Stranger Things, which began streaming on Netflix in 2016, tells the story of a group of boys who confront a mysterious phenomenon in the small town of Hawkins. At the time of its launch, the main cast was around 12-14 years old, an age difference that was comparable to that of the character’s setting (*).
In season 1, Will, Mike, and the others were in the first grade of junior high school.

However, due to production delays caused by the new coronavirus and other factors, as the series progressed, there was a large gap between the timeline of the play and that of real life, and the main cast members reached puberty earlier than the characters they were playing. This caused the show’s directors and producers to scratch their heads.

Noah told Flaunt magazine that during the previous season, producers asked Noah if he could act younger to more closely resemble Will’s age in the show.
That was the peak of the change,” he said. “Everything was changing for us, puberty and growing up, and the directors didn’t like that anyway.”

Noah recalls, “One of the producers came to me and said, ‘Noah, can you manage to speak in a higher tone and just lean forward a little bit? We want you to maintain the innocence that you had in season one. I remember he said, ‘I don’t know what to say. My voice is getting lower. My voice is getting lower and I don’t sound young anymore.

The older brothers and sisters, Jonathan, Steve, Nancy, and Robin, are also steadily getting older, and Joe Keeley, who plays Steve, will turn 30 this April.
