Emergency SOS via satellite allows the iPhone’s antenna to connect directly to a satellite and send a message to an emergency call service even when out of cellular or Wi-Fi range. Users will be able to manually share their location via satellite in a “find me” message even when they are out of cellular communication or Wi-Fi connection range, making it possible to use this feature as an emergency SOS when hiking or camping out of communication range. This profile is then synchronized across Apple devices so that the user can enjoy user-optimized sound on any device.
In addition to improved sound quality, the H2 chip also offers improved noise canceling performance. It is now able to muffle twice as much noise as the original AirPods Pro. In addition, “Adaptive Environmental Noise Removal” has been added to the external sound capturing mode. The company says it can reduce loud ambient noise such as sirens from passing cars, construction noise, and loud speakers at concerts through on-device processing.
The stick portion is equipped with a pressure-sensitive sensor and can be controlled by touch. The volume can also be adjusted by tracing up and down.
The device can be used for up to 6 hours (with ANC ON) on a single charge. When used with the charging case, it can be used for 30 hours (with ANC ON).
The charging case also has a new built-in speaker, and the “Find” function can be used to locate the case by emitting sound from the case. The case’s terminal is Lightning; it supports wireless charging with MagSafe and Qi. The case has a new strap hole.
