In the 2022 F1 season, Red Bull’s Max Verstappen won the championship at the Japanese Grand Prix. Red Bull also has a 165-point lead over Ferrari and is now likely to win the constructors’ championship within a few races.

Thanks to the entire technical team.

If Red Bull wins the constructors’ championship, it will be the first time since 2013 and the first time since the V6 turbo and hybrid power unit was introduced.

Team Principal Christian Horner paid tribute to the technical team, led by Chief Technical Officer Adrian Newey.

When asked about Newey’s continued contributions, Horner thanked him as follows: “Not only Adrian, but also the team, for all their hard work and dedication.

I want to thank not only Adrian, but the entire technical team.

Pierre Wachet, technical director; Enrico Balbo, aerodynamics; Craig Skinner, chief designer; and Ben Waterhouse, performance engineering. I think this is the strongest technical team we have ever had.

I think this kind of performance is a testament to the hard work that goes on behind the scenes.”

Last year, Red Bull was in a fierce title race with Mercedes. Lewis Hamilton and Verstappen fought for the championship right up to the very end.

Horner emphasized that this delayed the shift to the development of the car for 2022. He said that the entire team, which had performed excellently in such a situation, had moved up a gear.

I think it means a lot of blood, sweat, and tears were shed to put in such a competitive car as the last team to shift to car development this season, given what we did last year and the budget restrictions and other major pressures we’re under this year.”

Max has matured a lot since winning his first title. The way he has driven and operated this year has been on another level and he really deserves the championship.

Everyone at the factory, everyone at Red Bull, all of our partners, all of our technical partners, have really stepped it up a gear this year.”

Yasuaki Asaki, former project leader of Honda F1 and now managing director of HRC (Honda Racing) and general manager of the four-wheel racing development department, accepted the constructors’ trophy on the podium at the Japanese GP.

Red Bull and Honda strengthened their partnership prior to the Japanese GP, with the HRC as well as HONDA logos appearing on the cars.

I thought it was right that Asaki, who has been one of the heroes behind the scenes of the Honda organization and HRC, should receive the Constructors’ Trophy now that Honda has announced its involvement for the next three years,” said Asaki. It’s a very proud moment for everyone at HRC.”

We really appreciate all the support they’ve given us in the past, and of course as a supplier this year, they’ve done a fantastic job.” As well as our partners such as ExxonMobil, for example, in dealing with the new E10 fuel that is being used this year.”

To achieve these results, everything needs to come together. And we achieved it.”
