Jason David Frank, who played the first Green Ranger and White Ranger Tommy Oliver in the “Power Rangers” drama series and “Power Rangers: The Movie,” has died in Texas. His agent confirmed the news to TMZ. He was 49 years old.

His representative said in a statement, “We ask that you respect the privacy of his family and friends during this terrible time as we accept the loss of such a wonderful man. ‘He loved his family, friends, and fans very much. He will truly be missed,” it continued.

 

A source who knew him directly told TMZ that Frank’s death was due to suicide, but the official cause of death has not yet been revealed.

 

In response to the sad news, Frank’s former “Power Rangers” co-star Walter Jones also released a statement to TMZ. ‘He was an inspiration to so many. His presence will be greatly missed. It is very sad to lose another member of the Ranger family,” said Walter Jones, who played Zack Taylor, the first Black Ranger in the franchise. ‘Jason was one of the biggest pranksters on the show. He had a wild sense of humor,” he continued, “and my prayers go out to his family and all who miss him.”

 

Walter Jones also posted a photo of his memories. ‘Unbelievable… .RIP Jason David Frank,” and captioned it, “Sad to have lost another special family member.
