North Six and De Jardin’s representatives denied they were responsible, and there was some pushback from fashion insiders who said the parties should not be blamed for the company’s advertising.

In addition, celebrity collaborators such as Kim Kardashian were also involved in the controversy, publicly blaming the brands for their poor judgment and lack of oversight.

In the midst of all this, on Friday, December 2 local time, Balenciaga announced that it was dropping the lawsuit in a statement on social media by its CEO.

Meanwhile, Demna, creative director of the hip fashion brand, apologized on Instagram for the teddy bear campaign.

He wrote, “I would like to personally apologize for the wrong artistic choice of the concept of the gift campaign with children and I take my responsibility,” he wrote, continuing, “It was inappropriate to have me promote an object that has nothing to do with children.
