The top-seeded University of Georgia won 65-7 (38-7 in the first half) over the third-seeded Texas Christian University.

The team won its second title in a row for the second year in a row, bringing its record to 15-0 on the season.

This is the first consecutive title under the current system since 2014. Fourth-year QB Stetson Bennett (25=180 cm, 96 kg), who joined the team as a non-scholarship walk-on and later returned to school via junior college, was named MVP of the offense for the second year in a row last year with six TDs, four on the pass and two on the run.

Bennett, 25, is older than the starting QBs of five of the teams that made the NFL playoffs this season, and although he struggled to the end in the semifinals (Peach Bowl) on December 31 against fourth-seeded Ohio State University, 42-41, he showed his dominance in the final and won handily.

Texas Christian University, which was seeking its first title, swept the second-seeded University of Michigan 51-45 in the semifinals (Fiesta Bowl), but lost to the University of Georgia. 13-2, they finished the season with a perfect record.
