Wayne Shorter, an American saxophonist and considered one of the greatest jazz composers in the country’s history, died on March 2 in Los Angeles at the age of 89.
Wayne Shorter’s publicist revealed to AFP. The cause of death has not been disclosed.
Wayne Shorter was a member of the band of trumpeter Miles Davis, another jazz great, and then became the bandleader of his own group, Weather Report. He was one of the few musicians who pioneered the jazz heyday of the 1950s to survive.
