Judi Dench, the 88-year-old great actress, confesses that she is suffering from deteriorating eyesight! ‘I Can’t Even Read My Script’

Academy Award-winning actress Judi Dench (88) has revealed that she is suffering from deteriorating eyesight.

In an interview with the Sunday Mirror, Judi revealed that she is unable to read scripts on set due to her deteriorating eyesight.

In the interview, Judi said of losing her eyesight, “It’s been the most horrible, shocking thing for my body…. It’s horrifying. There is nothing worse than being dependent on another person. Judi, who has had a long acting career, had a hard time accepting this fact.

She continued, “I mean, I can’t see on the movie set anymore. I can’t read. So I can’t see much. But you just deal with it. You just keep going. It’s difficult to do long scenes, but we haven’t found a solution yet. I haven’t found a solution yet. I have a lot of friends who help me with scripts. I have an excellent visual memory,” she said, revealing that she is currently working on the film with the help of her friends.

In 2012, Judi also revealed that her eyesight was deteriorating due to age-related macular degeneration*.

*A disease in which the macula, the central part of the retina, deteriorates due to aging, resulting in vision loss.

Judi has overcome the difficulty of her failing eyesight and seems determined to continue her acting career somehow. She will celebrate her 89th birthday this December, but she has no intention of retiring.
