Taron Egerton, Eggsy of the “Kingsman” series and a popular candidate for the next James Bond, comments on the rumors.
The world’s eyes are on the seventh James Bond.
Since Daniel Craig, the sixth James Bond, graduated from the role, fans have been engaged in a battle of predictions and wishes regarding the next seventh Bond. Names of British actors who look good in suits have come up, from young actor Harry Styles to Reggae-Jean Page and Tom Hiddleston. On the other hand, Idris Elba, who has been said to be the most promising candidate, has recently made several comments strongly denying his appointment, and it is not at all clear who it will be.
In the meantime, Taron Egerton, who has strong support from fans, reacted about “007. It is easy to imagine him playing a spy, after all, he must have been influenced by “Kingsman. This film, like “007,” is also very British, with suited-up characters and superb action scenes.
Many fans think that Taron can play Bond, but he himself doesn’t seem to think so. In an interview with Total Film, he said, “I think everyone has already found someone. And it’s not me,” he said firmly.
I’m not even in the conversation,” he said. (I have never met the Broccoli’s (a family of producers). They never inquired about me. I’ve never been one of the candidates being sought. I don’t think I’m right for that role. I think there are much, much better candidates for that role than I am.”
There are many actors who would like to play the world-famous character James Bond, and some actors, such as Tom Holland and Henry Cavill, are running for the role themselves, but Taron is not interested. But, he said, “Of course, I would be one of the very motivated audience members. That series is a great movie,” he said, admitting that he is a fan of the films as a viewer.
Incidentally, the next Bond is expected to be in his 30s, over 5 feet tall, and “unyielding, attractive, physically capable, and able to take on not only the role but also the glamour that comes with it,” he said.
