On Thursday night (24 March), Nicki Minaj wrote on Twitter: ‘Dear Barbz (collective term for Nicki’s fans).
It must be exhausting always rooting for the Anti-hero (It must be exhausting always rooting for the Anti-hero)” and suddenly tweeted the lyrics to Taylor’s song ‘Anti-hero’.

And before that tweet, she tweeted meaningfully, “I should not be left to my own vices (I should not be left to my own vices)”, which is also a reference to the lyrics of Taylor’s ‘Anti-hero’ song, “I should not be left to my own vices (I should not be left to my own devices)/ Sacrifices and vices come with them (They come with prices and vices)”, which is very similar to the lyrics of Taylor’s ‘Anti-Hero’.
These tweets from Nicki have led some Taylor fans to speculate that a remix version of Taylor’s ‘Anti Hero’ will be released with Nicki’s participation.
On Twitter, fans were asking: ‘Remix, when is it coming out!’ ‘Taylor and Nicki are so badass’, ‘Finally a collaboration!!!’ and replies already sounding excited.
Taylor and Nicki are known for their past disagreements and subsequent public reconciliation.
In 2015, at the ‘MTV Video Music Awards’, Nicki did not receive a single nomination for her new song ‘Feeling Myself’ featuring Beyoncé, and although her song ‘Anaconda’ was nominated for ‘Best Female Artist’, it was not As she was not nominated for ‘Best Video of the Year’, she posted, “I guess if you make a video celebrating women with slim bodies, you get nominated for Video of the Year”, and it was pointed out that this was a message directed at Taylor.
Taylor responded, “I love you and I support you. It’s not like you to have women fighting each other”, to which Nicki replied, “What? You didn’t read my tweet. I wasn’t talking about you. I love you too but we should talk about this’ and ‘I don’t understand why you’re tweeting at me’, to which Taylor responded by tagging her.
Taylor, who thought it was criticism of herself, apologised to Nicki. In response to the apology, Nicki wrote: ‘It means so much. Thank you Taylor” and reconciled the situation with a heart mark.
Taylor then made a surprise appearance late in Nicki’s performance at the MTV Video Music Awards in August, the month after this Twitter exchange. They performed Nicki’s song ‘The Night Is Still Young’ and Taylor’s song ‘Bad Blood’ together, and at the end they both smiled and exchanged a hot hug, showing the world that they had completely reconciled.
