Instagram seems to be hesitant to make major changes.

Instagram, a photo-sharing social networking service, has been in operation since 2010 and now has more than 1 billion active accounts worldwide. At the time of its release, it gained popularity as a social networking service for publishing still images, and the word “Insta-bae(instagrammable)” even appeared in Japan.

It seems that Instagram is hesitant to make major changes.

Recently, Instagram has been shifting its focus to “video,” perhaps with the video-sharing application “TikTok” in mind, by tweaking its design and changing to a feed that focuses on the “reel” function for short videos.

However, Kylie Jenner and Kim Kardashian, who are very influential on Instagram, have objected to this. They are calling for “Instagram to return to the original Instagram.

In response, Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri hastily sent out a video message to users asking for their understanding, but this response drew further criticism.

In an interview with Platformer magazine, Adam Mosseri said that the company needs to rethink its approach.

We’re glad we took the risk,” Mosseri said. But now we need to take a big step back and regroup,” Mosseri said. That way we learn a lot and then come back with new ideas. We are going to repeat this. We are trying to do this,” he said, hinting that the company may respond to criticism from users.
