Beyoncé is objecting regarding her tax payments.
Beyonce is currently being asked by the Internal Revenue Service to pay $2.7 million in taxes to the US Government. However, she is not convinced.
According to US Tax Court documents obtained by Page Six, Beyonce filed her tax return on Monday 17 April. In it, she complains that the Internal Revenue Service made several errors in its decisions on her 2018 and 2019 tax returns.
These include claims that she should have been allowed an itemised deduction for $868,766 she donated in 2018.
It should be noted that Beyoncé has been active in various charitable activities, including becoming the founder of the BeyGood Foundation in 2013, an organisation that supports education, disaster relief and mental health.
The documents also state that the Internal Revenue Service disallowed Beyoncé’s business income and some deductions for utilities, insurance, administrative expenses, legal services and professional services in 2018 and 2019, respectively.
Meanwhile, according to the Internal Revenue Service deficiency notice, Beyoncé will have to pay $805,850 in 2018 and $1,442,747 in 2019, plus a combined penalty of $449,719.40 for each year. The company says.
Beyoncé’s attorney, Michael C. Cohen, told Page Six: ‘We are in the process of coordinating with the Internal Revenue Service and we expect this matter to be resolved in the near future.’
This year, Beyoncé won her 32nd Grammy Award, the most in history. Her total assets are estimated to be worth approximately USD 500 million (JPY 68.719 billion).
