Usher and Chris Brown were seen in a heated argument just before the Lovers & Friends Fest 2023 music festival in Las Vegas on 6 May. The two are known to be good friends, but what happened?
The incident happened at Chris Brown’s birthday party.
Just before the Lovers & Friends Fest 2023 music festival in Las Vegas on 6 May, Chris Brown held his 34th birthday party at a local skating rink.
The party was attended by many celebrities, including festival organiser Usher, and began in a friendly atmosphere, with Usher singing ‘Happy Birthday’. However, one thing led to a clash between Usher and Chris. The party was supposed to be fun, but the mood turned nasty.
Hollywood Unlocked reports that the altercation started when Teyana Taylor, who retired from music in 2021, was seen in footage filmed by TMZ as Usher tried to calm down a yelling Chris.
Teyana, who was a guest at the party, somehow ignored Chris, the star of the party. Chris got angry and shouted at Teyana to leave the party, and Usher intervened to calm her down. Chris’ anger then turned to Usher, and the two allegedly started arguing.
According to witnesses, Chris then left the venue quickly and Usher chased after him, but Usher later returned to the venue with a bleeding nose.
Despite the controversy, Usher and Chris remained silent and the festival went on. Both parties appeared to be enjoying themselves and Usher performed his collaboration with Chris, ‘Party’, on stage. At this time, Teyana Taylor, who is believed to be one of the main characters in the row, was also seen at the venue dancing to the song.
Did Chris fight at the festival? Video of them struggling and shouting at each other was leaked.
Chris Brown performed at Lovers & Friends Fest 2023, a one-day music festival organised by Usher, after his row with Usher.
The festival, which featured 45 popular artists from the 2010s and 2020s, including Missy Elliott, Mariah Carey, Nelly, Busta Rhymes and Flo Rider, was a huge success, but a video has leaked online.
It is a video of Chris shouting at some men and struggling in the crowd, while being placated by men who appeared to be his friends.
As the video caused controversy on social media, Chris appeared in the comments section of the account on which the video was uploaded. ‘People have been screaming all weekend and you’re still dragging it out,’ he said, briefly referring to the Usher incident, before adding, ‘There were so many people backstage and security was trying to get everyone off the stage. Then people started pushing… so I was intervening, telling them my kid was over there. (You can tell the plot (that they had a fight) all you want.”
Chris and Usher have a history, with Chris going to ask for a contract before his debut, which Usher turned down. Chris then got his big break and Usher regretted that decision for the rest of his life, and since then Usher has decided that he would definitely support Chris if he was asked to. From the looks of the two of them at the festival, it seems unlikely that this time around will be the end of their relationship.
