‘I’ve broken my shoulder, I’ve had it treated. So has my elbow. I’ve had an infection and almost lost a finger. I’ve broken bones in my face and even my humerus (arm bone from shoulder to elbow),’ revealed Michael, adding: ‘Yes, it was bad.
Parkinson’s disease is a neurodegenerative disorder* that causes tremors and stiffness in the body and loss of control over limb movements. Symptoms escalate gradually and eventually lead to problems with walking and talking.

Michael has said that the disease causes more physical accidents and that he “often has assistants around me in case I fall”, but he also confides that “it’s hard to have no privacy”.
Michael, who was a star of the 1980s and 1990s, appearing in popular films such as the drama Family Ties and the movie Back to the Future, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 1991, aged 29. publicly.
Michael continued to act and won many awards, but in 2020 he announced his retirement from acting, saying he could no longer ‘remember his lines’ due to memory loss.
