Prince Harry and Meghan were reportedly involved in a “near-catastrophic car chase” the other day.
Page Six reports that this may have been partly due to the pair’s reluctance to pay their hotel bill.

According to reports, Prince Harry and Meghan requested a discounted room at The Carlyle, a favourite hotel of the late Princess Diana, for their visit to New York.
According to a police source, the Carlyle’s boss refused the ‘hefty discount’, so Prince Harry and Princess Meghan stayed at a friend’s house on the Upper East Side instead.
A New York City law enforcement official told Page Six: ‘They should have taken the hotel for everyone’s safety. Instead, they were stingy and wanted a place to stay for free”.
According to the source, ‘Prince Harry and Meghan’s people called the Carlyle before this trip and asked for a discount on the rooms, but the hotel said no.’ “If they had paid for the hotel in the first place, this supposedly ‘dangerous’ paparazzi chase in the city would not have happened. They would have returned to the Carlisle, been photographed going inside and that would have been the end of it.
Prince Harry and Princess Meghan are regulars at the Carlisle and were seen checking into the Carlisle and dining at the hotel’s famous Bemelmans Bar when they visited New York in 2021.
Prince Harry and Meghan are also reported to have signed a $100 million deal with Netflix, so it remains a mystery as to why the pair “splurged” on the hotel bill.
