Miley Cyrus wants to distance herself from touring for a while.
In a recent cover interview for the latest UK edition of Vogue, singer and actress Miley Cyrus revealed that she has no plans to go on a concert tour for the foreseeable future.
Miley Cyrus and Vogue about a World Tour: “she’s not sure she can do it anymore; certainly not in the foreseeable. “It’s been a minute,” she says of her years-long hiatus. “After the last [headline arena] show I did [in 2014], I kind of looked at it as more of a question. ‘After my last headline concert in an arena [in 2014], I kind of had a lot of doubts,’ Miley opened up, ‘I thought I couldn’t do it. It wasn’t just that I couldn’t do it because of my ability, it was my desire. I started to wonder if I wanted to give my life for someone else’s joy, for someone else’s fulfilment…” she added, but the words did not follow.
Will Miley ever sing in front of her fans?
The Post has contacted Miley’s representatives for comment, but has not received a response at this time.
In 2014, Miley toured extensively in support of her album ‘Bangerz’, which was released the previous year.
The tour saw her perform over 70 shows around the world, including New Zealand, Europe, the US and Canada.
Since then, however, Miley’s live appearances have been limited to smaller tours of only eight shows and participation in music festivals.
In an interview, Miley revealed her desire to sing for close friends rather than in front of large crowds.
‘Singing in front of hundreds of thousands of people is not what I like best. I feel unconnected, I don’t feel safe’, Miley said, adding, ‘It doesn’t seem natural, even if I’m in front of 100,000 people, I’m alone. I feel very isolated,” she added.
