Popular American singer Kesha (36) revealed that she suffered serious complications from her egg freezing surgery.
In a recent interview with SELF, an American online magazine dealing with health and beauty information, Kesha said, “I almost died in January (of this year). In the interview, Kesha reflected on the horrific experience that befell her.
In 2022, Kesha went through an egg retrieval surgery to freeze her eggs. However, a few weeks later, after performing in the Bahamas on New Year’s Eve, Kesha became too weak to walk.
Concerned about her health, Kesha went to a hospital for a checkup and was found to be suffering from “a rare and serious complication from fertility treatment” due in part to a weakened immune system*. She was then transferred to a hospital in Miami, where she was hospitalized for nine days.
Kesha was diagnosed with immunodeficiency in 2022.
According to UCLA Health, the procedure carries risks such as ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome, infection, and bleeding.
The symptoms include swelling of the ovaries and fluid buildup in the abdomen and breasts.
In the same interview, Kesha said, “It took a few months, but I finally feel recovered. It was a horrible experience. It seems that she is in good health now.
