Billie Eilish Reveals Her Thoughts on Body-Shaping Criticism

.

Singer Billie Eilish, known for hits such as “Bad Guy” and “When the Party’s Over,” talks about what people say online about her body shape and appearance, and how body shaming has affected her mental health. In an interview with British Vogue, Billie spoke about the impact of body shaming (criticism of body shape) on her mental health.

When asked if she is concerned about what people say about her body shape, she replied, “I don’t know. It’s hard. I honestly don’t think anyone can have a stronger opinion about my body than I do. But if I had been younger, say at the age of 11, if people had said what they are saying now on the Internet, I don’t think I would have existed here. I like myself more than I used to, and I am more interested in how I feel than how they feel. But it still hurts a lot,” she continued.

‘It’s hard to be in pain. It’s true that there have been difficult times. I’m still trying to figure things out. For now, it’s definitely a strange life.”

She is often criticized not only for her body shape, but also for her change from a look that is considered boyish by society to one that is considered feminine, “For most of my life, I was masculine and boyish. But for the last couple of years, I’ve been living my life thinking, ‘I can be what I want to be, when I want to be. I can be feminine, sexy, or cute. There are times when I am none of those things, but that’s me, too,” she said.

Incidentally, Billie, who says that negative comments have often made her feel depressed, says that she sets aside time for self-care to shake those negative voices out of her and says, “I like to take a bath. To be honest, all I do is play games on my phone. But it feels so good,” she reveals.
