British actor Idris Elba, 50, who was once named People magazine’s “Sexiest Man” in 2018, has been accused of having an affair with the wife of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who announced their separation on August 2.
Prime Minister Trudeau announced on his own Instagram that he and Sophie Gregoire, who have been together for 18 years, have made the decision to separate after talks.
They have three children together and “will remain a close-knit family with deep love and respect,” he said, asking for respect for their privacy. The cause of the breakup has not been disclosed, but posts pointing to a possible affair between Elba and Gregoire spread online immediately afterward, U.S. media reported.
It all started when the two attended the same charity event in early March 2020 and later announced that they were both infected with Covid-19 on the same day. Although this is only speculation, some people have suspected that the two were infected after sharing a bed together, and the announcement of their separation has been rehashed as “I knew it”.
