Actor Percy Hynes White, who plays Xavier in the popular Netflix series “Wednesday,” has reportedly been dropped from season 2 following allegations of sexual assault.
Percy Hynes White is facing sexual assault allegations.
Percy Hynes White, who plays Xavier Thorpe, one of the main characters in the Netflix original series “Wednesday,” which was released in November 2022 and has gained popularity in Japan, was first alleged to have been sexually assaulted in January of this year.
In a now-deleted social media post, an anonymous person accused Percy of sexually assaulting her. He accused Percy of making the women at a party drink alcohol and engaging in sexual acts with them while they were intoxicated.
Percy later issued a statement in June denying the allegations of sexual assault. Earlier this year, someone I have never met began an online campaign of misinformation about me,” he wrote, claiming that he did not know the person who made the accusation against him. He added, “Because of this, my family has had their personal information exposed and my friends have received death threats.
The rumors are false. It is unacceptable to portray me as someone who is bigoted and has a criminal disregard for people’s safety.
Percy’s father, novelist and actor Joel Thomas Hynes, also posted a statement denying the sexual assault allegations about his son. He defended Percy as “falsely accused” of the crime.
Reportedly dropped from “Wednesday” Season 2.
While Percy has denied the sexual assault allegations made against him, Netflix has decided not to feature his character Xavier Thorpe in season 2 of “Wednesday,” according to the Daily Mail.
While sources testified to the Daily Mail that Percy will not appear in Season 2, the Daily Mail also reported that Netflix says that nothing has been decided on the casting for Season 2 because they are currently on strike, including SAG-AFTRA.
