Avatar: The Way of Water” emotionally depicts the beautiful ocean, the breath of life that resides there, and the fierce battle between humans who plan to invade the mysterious planet Pandora and the indigenous Na’vi, as well as a heart-wrenching and moving drama with the most beautiful images in human history. Cameron, the film’s writer and director, says he cut about 10 minutes worth of scenes depicting gun violence.

‘I actually cut about 10 minutes worth of scenes that targeted gun action. We wanted to remove the ugliness and strike a balance between light and dark. Of course, there was a conflict. Violence and action are the same thing, depending on how you look at it. This is the dilemma of an action filmmaker. I am known as an action filmmaker, but looking back at the films I have made, I don’t know if I want to make that film now.

I’m not sure if I want to make guns an object of passion in today’s world, as I did with “The Terminator” over 30 years ago.

What is happening in our society regarding guns makes me sick to my stomach. I’m glad I live in New Zealand, which just banned all assault rifles two weeks after the mosque shooting a few years ago,” Cameron said.

The teaser trailer for “Avatar: The Way of Water” was originally supposed to feature a scene of Jake holding a rifle, but Disney edited it out due to public outcry against glorifying gun violence after the Robb Elementary School shootings.
