Elon Musk comments on trial in which ex-lovers were sued for defamation.

Following the conclusion of the entire trial in which actor Johnny Depp sued his ex-wife, actress Amber Heard, for defamation, Amber’s former lover, businessman Elon Musk, expressed his opinion on the case on Twitter.

Elon quoted Massachusetts Institute of Technology researcher and podcast distributor Rex Friedman: “My takeaways from the Johnny Depp v. Amber Heard trial: 1. Fame is one hell of a drug (for some); 2. Psychiatrists & lawyers come in drastically varying levels of skill; 3. Lying to millions of people is something humans are capable of; 4. Love can be messy; 5. Mega pint of wine; and in response to a tweet that read, “I hope you both move on. When they are at their best, they are both great,” he commented, bordering on wishful thinking.

As we have reported daily, Johnny is suing Amber for $50 million in damages, claiming that Amber’s 2018 op-ed in the Washington Post, in which she did not name him but identified him as Johnny, accusing him of domestic violence, constituted defamation. Amber also sued Johnny for $50 million in damages. Amber, on the other hand, is also suing Johnny for $100 million, claiming that she has been severely affected by the smear campaign he has set up to damage her career and reputation. Final arguments were held on May 27 local time, and a verdict is expected to be rendered this week.

Incidentally, Elon and Amber claim that they started dating after Johnny and Amber divorced, but there was testimony in a past trial that Elon had been going in and out of her home while she was married to Johnny, so Elon is expected to appear as a witness in this trial. Although it was reported that he would appear as a witness at the trial, he was never seen in the courtroom after all.
