Popular singer Taylor Swift was offered the chance to be a performer for the NFL finals Super Bowl halftime show, but she turned it down. The U.S. TMZ reports.
Numerous well-known artists perform at the Super Bowl Halftime Show.
The “Super Bowl,” the annual top American football game that attracts the attention of the entire nation, is held during the halftime of the game. The performances by artists during halftime of the game are also famous for attracting a great deal of attention every year.
In the past, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Prince, Lady Gaga, Beyonce, and many other famous artists have performed. This year’s 56th Super Bowl halftime show featured Eminem, Dr. Dre, Mary J. Blige, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, 50 Cent, and other leading hip-hop artists.
In the midst of all this, rumors surfaced that Taylor Swift would headline the halftime show at next year’s 57th Super Bowl, but according to sources, Taylor has turned down the offer.
According to TMZ, Taylor would like to do the halftime show someday, but wants to wait until she finishes re-recording her last six albums.
Speaking of Taylor Swift, Big Machine Records, the country music-focused record label she was a part of from her debut until 2018, was purchased for about $30 billion by Scooter Braun’s company, the astute manager of Justin Bieber and other News. This, Taylor claims, has resulted in restrictions such as not being able to freely use or perform her own songs, even though they were written by her. He is currently re-recording his last six albums in order to obtain all the copyrights himself. It is also said that Scooter has since sold “Big Machine Records” to another company (a private investment fund).
Since appearing on the halftime show would greatly increase music sales and stream frequency due to its influence, Taylor did not want to perform his old songs just yet in order to keep his profits from being used to make money for someone else.
So far, Taylor has released re-recorded versions of “Fearless” and “Red,” and the four albums that have not yet been re-released are Taylor Swift, Speak Now, 1989, and Reputation.
With Taylor turning down the offer, the NFL is looking for a female pop star to replace her.
