What is it that Queen Elizabeth said, “I don’t understand”?

When Queen Elizabeth visited her grandson Prince William and his wife, Queen Catherine, at their separate home at Anmer Hall in Norfolk, she burst into laughter when she saw the renovated kitchen. Sally Bedell Smith, author of “Elizabeth the Queen: The Life of a Modern Monarch,” revealed to People.

Normally, Prince William and his family live at Kensington Palace in London*, but during the vacations they often spend time at Anmer Hall in Norfolk, where their second home is located. When the couple once invited Queen Elizabeth to lunch shortly after the renovation of their second home was completed, the queen, upon seeing the spacious kitchen with room to eat, remarked, “We’re going to have a lot of fun.

*The family is reportedly planning to move this summer to Adelaide Cottage, near Windsor Castle, where Queen Elizabeth lives.

I don’t understand why people spend so much time in the kitchen.

For Queen Elizabeth, who is aware that the kitchen is a place for cooking, it seems that she could not imagine eating there or staying there for a long time.

Incidentally, Princess Catherine had previously revealed that she cooked and made sweets with Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis during their stay home. She also made cupcakes with her children at the Platinum Jubilee celebrating the 70th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth’s accession to the throne in June this year, so a similar scene must surely be unfolding in the kitchen of her other home.
