Apple officially announced that it will hold a new product launch event “Far Out” on September 7, starting at 10:00 a.m. and will be live-streamed.
What does the event title “Far Out” mean?
The new products expected at the event are the iPhone 14 with a 6.1-inch screen size, the iPhone 14 Max with a 6.7-inch screen size, the iPhone 14 Pro with a 6.1-inch screen size, and the iPhone 14 Pro Max with a 6.7-inch screen size (all tentative). It is widely believed that the mini model will be left out of the lineup this time around, perhaps because the popularity of past mini models has not been as exciting as expected.

The rendering released in May by Jon Prosser, an Apple expert, shows an oval-shaped hole to the left of the camera hole that will house sensors in a “-” configuration. The edges of the display are also expected to be more discreet. Meanwhile, the main camera on the back is rumored to have a 48MP (48-megapixel) sensor.
In addition to the iPhone, the wearables lineup is also expected to be updated. First, the Apple Watch will get an annual update with the Series 8 (tentative), which will include an additional body temperature sensor, and a higher-end “Pro” series model that will follow the iPhone’s lead, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Guman and others. The Pro model is expected to have a larger 47mm case, a highly durable titanium case, and a high-capacity battery that will last several days.
The AirPods Pro, whose current model is approaching its third year, may also get a new model with Bluetooth 5.2 and LE Audio.
LE Audio is a new audio transmission mechanism supported by Bluetooth 5.2 and later, with lower latency and the LC3 codec, which can maintain sound quality even at low bit rates, and standard support for independent left and right streams.
In software, iOS 16 will be released after the iPhone launch event. iOS 16 will include a variety of new features, such as the ability to customize the lock screen and the ability to cancel and re-edit iMessage messages, which was announced at WWDC 22 in June.
Although there is a possibility that the iPad and Mac will be among the new products announced at the event, Apple has been holding events in October in recent years, and since iPadOS 16 and macOS Ventura are also reported to be released in October, at a different time than iOS 16, it is likely that they will be released in October.
