Taylor Swift, who was nominated in five categories at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards (MTV VMAs) held on August 28 (local time), made a surprise appearance at the ceremony without prior notice. Her surprise appearance at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards (MTV VMAs) attracted a great deal of attention.

Taylor made a surprise appearance at the Prudential Center (The Rock) in New Jersey, U.S., where the awards ceremony was held, and was accompanied by cinematographer Lina Yang. They were seated next to each other at the venue.

As a music video cinematographer, he has worked on many videos, including “Diamonds” by Sam Smith, “Levitating (The Blessed Madonna Remix)” by Dua Lipa with Madonna and Missy Elliott, and “You” by Utada Hikaru. Taylor made headlines last November when she included the 10-minute-long “All Too Well (10 Minute Version)” on her album “Red (Taylor’s Version). The song itself was long, but the 15-minute short film, filled with detailed Easter eggs, also drew a lot of attention, and the cinematographer for the short film was Lina, who was sitting next to me at the awards ceremony.

The MTV VMAs are the premier awards ceremony for outstanding music videos, and one of the most acclaimed videos of the year was the short film “All Too Well (10 Minute Version),” which was shown at this year’s ceremony. The video won three awards at this year’s ceremony, including the prestigious Best Video, Best Long Form Video, and Best Director. In an interview with British Cinematographer last year, Lina said of working with Taylor, “We had a great time working together and we trusted each other and worked together to make sure we could progress quickly and without compromise. Taylor is very cooperative and methodical, and I was very impressed with the creative instincts I glimpsed.

Incidentally, as a further surprise, Taylor also announced at the awards ceremony that her new album, which is expected to be titled “Midnights,” will be released on October 21.
