According to the BBC, Prince Henry, who now resides in the United States, arrived at Balmoral Castle after Queen Elizabeth’s death was announced.

On the day of Queen Elizabeth’s death, Prince Henry traveled from the United States to Scotland, but was unable to bid his beloved grandmother a final farewell. His wife, Princess Meghan, also did not accompany him.

According to CNN, a royal correspondent said, “Prince Henry, although not an active member of the family, is the senior member of the family and is very high on the list of successors. (I think that before (the Queen’s death) was announced, Prince Henry would have wanted to be there. It would have seemed disrespectful to announce it before everyone was through the gates of Balmoral Castle and inside. And they need a little time to regroup,” he commented.
