On September 19 (local time), the funeral of Queen Elizabeth of England was held at Westminster Abbey in London. Prince George, the eldest son of Prince William and Princess Catherine, who is promised to become the future monarch, and Princess Charlotte, the eldest daughter, also attended the funeral.
Prince George is struggling to hold back tears at the funeral.
According to Princess Catherine, Prince George “understands” Queen Elizabeth’s death. Also, although not pictured, Princess Charlotte, who along with Prince George adored the queen, calling her “Gungans,” also showed tears. During the funeral, Princess Charlotte was seen smiling as she comforted Princess Catherine by putting her hand on her shoulder.
The siblings, who also attended the memorial service for Queen Elizabeth’s husband, King Philip, who died in 2021, were polite throughout the event, with Princess Charlotte even giving her brother, Prince George, advice on etiquette.
As they waited for Queen Elizabeth’s coffin to arrive at Wellington Arch in Hyde Park, Princess Charlotte was standing next to Prince George. Princess Charlotte told Prince George, who was standing next to her, that “you need to bow (when the coffin passes in front of you),” and the prince seemed to listen to his sister’s words earnestly.
Princess Charlotte’s firmness was also on display. As the funeral procession left Westminster Abbey for Wellington Arch, Princess Charlotte saw Princess Sophie, who was standing next to her, bowing, which is called curtesy, and immediately did the curtesy. Prince George, seeing her, bowed as if he were following her.

Incidentally, Princess Charlotte, who is known for her precocious personality, was seen gently warning Prince George of “certain behavior” at the Platinum Jubilee ceremony held in June this year to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth’s reign.
