Lana Del Rey is taking steps to prepare for the leak of her latest work.

In a livestream, she said, “It was a few months ago. I parked my car on Melrose Place (actually Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles) and went away for a few minutes,” she began. Someone broke the window and took everything,” she explained the circumstances of the incident.

According to Lana, the car contained a computer with a 200-page manuscript she was writing for the publishing giant Simon & Schuster and a video camera with footage of her irreplaceable family.

I didn’t keep a backup of the manuscript in the cloud and had to remotely delete 200 pages of the manuscript,” Lana said, “and yet criminals could remotely access my phone and leak my songs and private photos.” I loved the manuscript I lost so much and put so much passion into it,” she said regretfully.

Lana further stated that the stolen computer included unreleased songs from her upcoming album, and urged her fans to never take advantage of any leaks of new songs or private videos.

In the distribution, Lana said, “I know this has happened, but I am confident in my music going forward. I’m going to continue to persevere and create the best work I can. New songs will not be released yet, so if you hear them somewhere, don’t listen to them,” she told her fans.
