Aaron Carter’s death has not been fully accepted.

As it will soon be one year since the sudden death of his brother, Aaron Carter, Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys said that he still has not fully accepted the tragic death that occurred at the young age of 34.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Nick shared the following account of what it has been like for nearly a year since his brother Aaron was found dead.

We still haven’t fully accepted his death, and I don’t think we will ever truly get over it. His death was too heavy for us, and even now our family is trying to make something out of that tragic event.

For Nick and his family, that “something” is participating in the work of On Our Sleeves, a foundation that helps children facing mental and emotional health challenges. Nick also held an event in honor of Aaron in conjunction with On Our Sleeves at Nick’s benefit concert in January.

Nick Carter cries and hugs with the Backstreet Boys at the Backstreet Boys concert the day after Aaron passed away.

Also, two months after Aaron’s sudden death, Nick released the song “Hurts to You” featuring Aaron before his death in a music video, in which he says, “Cause it hurts to love you / but I love you still / Miss you with all my heart, you know I’ll always will /And always prayed for peace somehow you soul could feel/ You know it hurts to love you but I love you still,” he sang of his love for his brother.
