<Putin, whose “mysterious injection scar” video has rekindled theories that he is seriously ill, has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and Parkinson’s disease, according to emails obtained by a British newspaper.

Amidst the reemergence of theories about Russian President Vladimir Putin’s health concerns, the existence of an email has been revealed in which he states that he has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and Parkinson’s disease. Putin’s “serious illness” theory has long been whispered, and after the invasion of Ukraine, rumors that he was suffering from cancer of the blood and other diseases were rife. Recently, suspicions were rekindled when a video released by the Russian Defense Ministry showed a stain on the back of Putin’s hand that looked like an “intravenous injection mark.

The Russian government has long maintained that the rumors are untrue. However, on November 1, the British tabloid The Sun reported that it had obtained an e-mail from a person close to the Russian government in which it was stated that Putin had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and early-stage Parkinson’s disease. The e-mail also stated that Putin’s illness was “already in advanced stages,” according to the paper.

According to the newspaper, Russian sources explained in the e-mail that “Putin is being given all kinds of powerful steroids and innovative painkiller injections on a regular basis to control the metastasis of his recently diagnosed pancreatic cancer. Not only is this causing intense pain,” they stated, “but Putin is also experiencing symptoms of other side effects, including facial swelling and memory problems.

The sources also revealed that in addition to pancreatic cancer and Parkinson’s disease, rumors have surfaced that Putin is suffering from prostate cancer. Rumors are circulating among his inner circle that he has prostate cancer in addition to pancreatic cancer, which is slowly metastasizing.”

■I.V. marks on his hands? His arms are shaking uncontrollably.

A video posted on social media last month drew users’ attention because it showed what appeared to be intravenous injection marks on the back of Putin’s hand. The Kremlin has since removed the video and released a new video with a watermark that hides the marks on Putin’s hand and a new video that does not show his hand.

In June, the Metro newspaper reported that a video of Putin meeting with Sergei Kulikov, CEO of the Russian state-owned company Rosnano, showed him gripping a table with swollen hands.

During a meeting with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko in April, Putin’s arms appeared to be shaking and he was captured pulling his arms to his chest to stop them from trembling. Putin also appeared to have difficulty walking toward Lukashenko.
