England midfielder Jude Bellingham is close to joining Liverpool.
As for Dortmund, they are said to be happy with a transfer fee worth between 85 million pounds (about 14.1 billion yen) and 130 million pounds (about 21.6 billion yen).
According to Christian Faulk, director of soccer for BILD, Bellingham’s joining Liverpool is “very, very close,” according to the Liverpool Echo.
Falk provided information about the player’s move to the Anfield Wrap, a podcast dedicated to Liverpool, on December 8. He said, “Next summer [Dortmund] will lose Bellingham as well as Håland. Bellingham and Liverpool are very, very close (to agreeing to join),” he said.
Bellingham, who is currently playing for England at the Qatar World Cup, has started all four games for the 19-year-old and has shined as a key player in midfield.
Falk added on the same podcast, “There have been many, many discussions [about a transfer]. His father Mark, mother Denise, and agent are really focused on Liverpool.”
He added on his Twitter account, “Liverpool are favourites to land Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund next summer. The negotiations are more advanced than those with Real Madrid. Bellingham’s family prefers a move to Liverpool,” he tweeted. The club is in talks with Real Madrid to sign Bellingham.
It has already been widely reported that coach Jurgen Klopp admires the 19-year-old, and if he joins, he will have won the race against Real Madrid, Manchester City, Chelsea, and Paris Saint-Germain.
Dortmund is said to be happy to let the England international go this summer for a transfer fee worth between 85 million pounds (about 14.1 billion yen) and 130 million pounds (about 21.6 billion yen).
